Job Description:

Plan, direct, and coordinate activities for the construction and maintenance of civil engineering projects, such as roads, bridges, substructures, superstructures and underground utilities. Participate in the conceptual development of construction projects and oversee its organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation. Manage and direct the construction, operations, at the project site while being responsible for the overall management of the project (from resourcing, scheduling to budgeting) to ensure that the project is delivered on time and within budget. Negotiate and manage subcontracts and purchase orders. Provide technical advice to field or managerial personnel regarding design, construction, or structural repairs, ensuring that the project team understands the various aspects of the contract that relate to their specific responsibilities, scopes and timelines. Thorough understanding of CPM scheduling methods and industry practices in order to preparing project baseline and schedule updates based on different project & company constraints using Primavera Scheduling software. Create and distribute Project Work Plans that describe the sequencing, means & methods, risk factors, budgets as well as duration of various activities. Prepare, manage and track RFI submittals, change orders, correspondence, permits, drawings, specs, and reports in a systematic manner. Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with contract specifications.


Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering AND 1 year of experience in the job offered

Experience (any amount) in 1) Contract Management and Dispute Resolution to identify discrepancies between project requirements and site conditions; 2) developing suitable solutions to ensure successful completion of projects and appropriation of due equitable compensation; 3) managing and scheduling multiple sub-contractors to effectively maximize productivity and minimize conflicts; and 4) managing multiple projects with varied scopes of work.

Knowledge of (1) CPM Scheduling software including Primavera P3, P6 & Microsoft Project, (2) document control software, (3) interpreting DOT specifications and contract documents; and 4) alternative procurement methods such as public-private partnerships including the ability to positively contribute to drafting of design-build proposals.
